Zur Zeit sind 29 neue Bilder von ihm in der Berliner Dependance der japanischen Akira Ikeda Gallery nahe der Schönhauser Allee zu sehen.
Sandro Chia, an italian painter, is attributed to the so-called "arte ciffra" (encrypted art) or "Transavangardia". His paintings triggered an almost physical excitement during my visit to the Documenta in 1982. On his large-scale paintings, figures move enveloped in an aura between lots of colours. Chia cites artistic styles from different epochs.
Currently, there are 29 paintings of him in the Berlin branch of the japanese Akira Ikeda Gallery, near the Schönhauser Allee.
